Queen Mary University of London

We have three campuses (as far as I am concerned =)) one for medicinal courses, one for master in law, and another for other courses.. of course the one is the main course, and is the only uni to be situated in zone 2 yes!!!!! one of the few things to be proud of T___T anyway, it is up to you, if you want to study, QM is the best, if you want to play, QM is the best, and if you want to be a humble servant to Allah QM would not be less good of a place for you. Peace =)

Facilities

We have prayer room. More like Multi faith room but mostly dominated by muslims. so we have absolutely no worries to pray there.. it is within campus so it is not very far, Congregational Friday prayer would be held at the main hall.. I am not really sure of the other facilities.. I dont think i have seen any swimming pool. oh and we also have prayer area in the library so we dont have to walk to the prayer room. the library in the main campus has three levels, the ground and the first floor is more commonly used, the second floor is for teaching materials. For internet, we can use the ones in library and the hive, and also some rooms in Art and Law building. lastly there are study areas in the library and the hive, but we dont have a large park like UCL =P

Course

Most malaysian students enroll for medicine, pharmacy and dentistry, so we can barely see any malaysians at the main campus. i myself take law, i have a friend studying for Computer management... there are few numbers of malaysian students in other courses as well...

Accommodation

First year, because of some confusion in the air, i stay at International Hall, 40 minutes from the campus by tube. it was catered. at first it was so depressing because i cant cook, and usually when i returned to my room it was already dark and i would be tired. but gradually it was fun, mainly because i can taste different kinds of food prepared by our attendant (not just malaysian food). so it was adventurous - never fails when it comes to food!!!

Life As A Muslim

hm....... because i live alone hence.... i did almost everything alone, except for when i 'visit' the seniors' houses.. (no longer a visitor!!) and our islamic society is very active, there would be a interesting activity almost every week, there is also an islamic week, all the events were so fun...! the problem is just that whetehr your schedule is compatible with theirs.. =)

Food

Megi - China Town!! Leicester Square!! Wajib!! Compulsory!! The Packet of 5 would coust you less than 2 punds.. i think, 1.50?? Thats so cheap.. the thing about being in Zone 2 is, you can find halal food everywhere, because you can see that most muslims reside here.. so no worries =)
malaysian food? ...........................
Seniors house ok. And also, Malaysian Hall!!!!!

Malaysian Community

Most are friends who study as well. most PhD scholars or families live in the zone 4 .. so rarely see them
malaysian hall =)

What to Prepare

Self. Just the common ones.. Camera... the willingness to study.... =(

I am going to an Open Day at Queen Marys - do you know where we can do the Friday prayer?
