Education Sponsorship Unit (ESU)

PETRONAS offers academic sponsorships to deserving students every year under its Education Sponsorship Programme.

Since 1975, PETRONAS has sponsored more than 30,000 scholars under this programme, making PETRONAS one of the major education corporate sponsors in Malaysia.

Through this programme, young Malaysians have been able to pursue higher education in Malaysia and abroad, thus contributing to the pool of professional manpower required to spur the development of the company, industry and nation.

Foreign University Sponsorship

Education sponsorships offered under the overseas programmes are awarded to outstanding Malaysian students who are interested in pursuing tertiary studies in Engineering, Applied Science, Accountancy, Business Administration and Economics.

For foreign university sponsorship programmes, sponsored students are required to complete an18-24 month pre-university programme (A-Levels / International Baccalaureate) in Malaysia and must obtain outstanding results to qualify for entry into a foreign university.

Students pursuing our foreign university sponsorship programme in a Malaysian branch campus are required to complete a 12-18 month Foundation Programme in the campus before advancing to undergraduate studies.

To qualify, you must have sat for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination and achieved excellent results. You must also demonstrate strong personal qualities such as leadership, drive and teamwork. Shortlisted candidates will undergo the PETRONAS EduQuest Camp for final selection.
